Geomatic Technologies (GT) is mid-way through implementing three of its flagship Field Mobile Computing (FMC) solutions for CitiPower/Powercor and United Energy Distribution. These are significant multi-million dollar contract wins in a hotly contested enterprise software market and will see GT deliver implementation, application and device support and hosting services for multiple years.

GT had been in discussions with United Energy regarding their Vegetation Management and Asset Inspection mobility system requirements dating back to 2014. The team at GT submitted compelling proposals for both Asset Inspection and Vegetation Management solutions late last year, strategically offering UE implementation and pricing benefits for joint delivery of both solutions. The project implementation is nearing the mid-point and successfully meeting all milestones.

In parallel to the UE project, the GT team had been in the midst of delivering the Vegetation Management Solution to support CitiPower/Powercor.  GT was awarded this contract as the latest version of its Vegetation Management product is compliant with Government regulatory requirements, and GT enjoys a robust and enduring long-term relationship with Powercor who is an existing FMC Asset Inspection customer.

The GT VMS product will provide Powercor the capability to manage in excess of 150 field users tasked with completing vegetation management inspections, cutting, and auditing, across the Powercor network; utilising their preferred iPads whilst out in the field.

These project wins reinforce GT’s depth of capability and strong position in the Enterprise Mobility space. This is a very exciting time for the team as it strives to deliver solutions making our customers difficult lives easy.
